The two running-mates have had their first (and only) televised debate.  It seems analysts are saying that neither of them won the debate as a whole, but that they traded blows on their own focus points.  Palin performed much better than was expected by many (judging by her Katie Curie interviews), however questions have been asked on whether she is actually assisting McCain to get votes, or just providing acceptable answers.  As for Biden, he walked away without making one of his famous “gaffes”.  He did at one stage call Palin “Sarah”, but then quickly reverted back to “governor”.
