House (TV series)

I’ve been a fan of House since it started back in 2004. At first it was pretty epic, this arrogant doctor not caring what anyone wants of him as long as he gets his solution to a puzzle. The puzzle being the random medical condition that his patients would present to him.

5 Seasons down the line and I don’t know how much more is left in the series. Each episode is 3 steps:

  1. Patient with weird undiagnosable, untreatable problem comes in
  2. They nearly kill the patient with a concoction of drugs that actually does nothing because they have not diagnosed the problem correctly
  3. Someone is talking about doughnuts and how if you plant fruit loops, you get a doughnut tree and somewhere in this unrelated conversation the diagnosis is found.

Season 4, and now 5, have definitely tried to move things along in terms of story line and actual character development, but is it too little too late? As soon as the original team started getting interesting and you started to learn their story etc. they were pushed off to the side and now make what can only be called cameo appearances. We know Cameron had a husband that died, but that’s it. We know Foreman had a troubled youth and now we know “13″ actually doesn’t want to die (After S5E09 that is).

It’s a shame though, I enjoy the show but it’s getting too repetitive in the way each episode is structured.
