After the success of their first space walk – China are now setting their sights on a manned trip to the moon, and a space station. Wang Zhaoyao, spokesperson for China’s manned space programme said that “We believe that as long as we can make further progress in science and technology, we can achieve the dream of a manned space flight to the moon in the near future.”
New mission have been set in order to reach this goal of a lunar mission. From 2011 China will be aiming to develop technology to make long term space habitation possible. Although not clear if the mission will be a lunar landing or merely an orbital mission, there is still no clear date set for mission.
